Description
The Center for Humanities and History of Modern Biology will host the second , a biennial event celebrating the unique & successful Celia & Wally Gilbert Artist-in-Residence Program. The program was founded and supported by Nobel Laureate and artist Walter Gilbert and his wife Celia Gilbert, a poet.
Festival Program:
2:00pm – 3:00pm Art Exhibition: Includes work from Gilbert Artist-in-Residence recipients, CSHL staff and invited artists. Artwork will be a mix of mediums from visual & multidisciplinary artists and photography.
3:00pm – 5:00pm Art Symposium:
- Welcome – Wally Gilbert, Nobel Prize Laureate
- Special Lecture by April Gornik, Internationally-Acclaimed Landscape Painter
- Introduction: Carter Burwell, American Film Composer
Coffee break & Silent Auction
- Talks by Gilbert Artists-in-Residence
