The donated $75,000 to Associate Professor Mikala Egeblad‘s lab to start an ovarian cancer research project. Dr. Egeblad and her team will study metastasis in ovarian cancer and how the body’s immune system might be used to combat those cancer cells.
Liz Oppo, the founder of the Fund, presented Dr. Egeblad with a check at their annual gala on November 16, 2018. The Katie Oppo Research Fund鈥檚 mission is to raise awareness and fund research for the prevention, treatment, and cure of ovarian cancer. This is the Fund鈥檚 first donation to 黑料吃瓜资源.
