In their yearly report, 鈥,鈥 the Bush Center measures the innovations of American research institutions and highlights works from the top performers. CSHL was chosen as an institution that 鈥渋llustrates the social benefits from cutting-edge research鈥 through its basic research. The report highlights SPINRAZA庐, the novel antisense oligonucleotide approved by the FDA for treating spinal muscular atrophy. It was developed by CSHL Professor Adrian Krainer.
CSHL was also ranked #1 in research output worldwide by the journal Nature in 2019, and has been named a Top Long Island Workplace two years in a row by Newsday.
