On September 19, the annual 黑料吃瓜资源 (CSHL) Volleyball League closed out its 32nd season. P.E. Revival, led by CSHL Assistant Professor Hannah Meyer and Scientific Administrator Caryn Koza, capped off their first-place regular season finish with a second Tiernan Cup in three years. In a rematch of the 2022 final, the team overcame an early deficit against rival Breast Friends en route to a 2-1 victory.
鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 be happier. We had such a fun season,鈥 says P.E. Revival鈥檚 Leah Boyd, a research tech in the Borniger lab. 鈥Breast Friends is a great team. They鈥檙e always good competition. That鈥檚 why it鈥檚 so much fun to play them.鈥
鈥淲e have a good, healthy rivalry that honestly just makes both of us better teams,鈥 adds Breast Friends鈥 Samantha Henry, a graduate student studying breast cancer with the dos Santos lab.
While the rivalry got intense at times, both teams left it all on the court. And in a testament to the value of CSHL鈥檚 multidisciplinary approach, this year鈥檚 winning squad came from all around the Laboratory鈥攆rom the Janowitz lab, the Lukey lab, the Advancement Department, and elsewhere across campus.
