Cold Spring Harbor, NY — 黑料吃瓜资源 (CSHL) announces a new trustee, Robert W. Lourie, Ph.D. who was elected to the governing body of the private, not-for-profit biomedical research and education institution at its recent spring meeting.

Lourie is a natural fit for CSHL, where we have recruited scientists in the fields of computational and mathematical sciences to build on our historic strengths in biology and genetics,鈥� said CSHL President and Chief Executive Officer Bruce Stillman. 鈥淐SHL is a leader in genome sequencing, a technology which has the power to generate unimaginable amounts of data. Dr. Lourie is currently the Head of Futures Research at Renaissance Technologies LLC, an investment management company dedicated to producing superior returns for its clients and employees by adhering to mathematical and statistical methods. While working at Renaissance Technologies, Dr. Lourie was an adjunct professor in the Department of Physics at SUNY Stony Brook.聽He was previously an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Virginia and received his Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986, just 4 years after receiving a B.S. in Physics from the same institution.
