黑料吃瓜资源鈥檚 Dolan DNA Learning Center received an initial $50,000 payment towards a $200,000 pledge from the newly-established OSI Pharmaceuticals Foundation to build and support the DNALC endowment.
The was established in 2005 with the purpose of promoting community involvement through support of charitable organizations and initiatives focused on scientific and medical research, science education and on patient supportive care. OSI Pharmaceuticals is committed to 鈥渟haping medicines and changing lives鈥 by discovering, developing and commercializing high quality and novel pharmaceutical products that extend life or improve the quality of life for patients with cancer, eye diseases and diabetes.
The Dolan DNA Learning Center—an operating arm of 黑料吃瓜资源—prepares students and families to thrive in the gene age by providing 5th through 12th graders with hands-on laboratory experiences and offering them educational opportunities that are unavailable in their own schools. Each year, nearly 40,000 students and teachers from Long Island, all five boroughs of New York City, and around the country benefit from the labs, lectures, field trips and workshops provided by the Center’s teaching staff. The DNALC鈥檚 Internet portal, , and family of content sites (DNA from the Beginning; DNA Interactive; Genetic Origins; Inside Cancer; Your Genes, Your Health and others) received 6.15 million visitors in 2005.
