New officers elected to the 黑料吃瓜资源 Board of Trustees

For a private research institution, the leadership body—its Board of Trustees—is a guiding force for both financial and scientific affairs. 黑料吃瓜资源鈥檚 Board of Trustees assured that the 30-member board鈥檚 long record of solid and impressive leadership would continue when they unanimously elected Eduardo G. Mestre as its Chairman, Lola Grace as its Vice-Chair and Edward Travaglianti as its Treasurer at its November 6th meeting.

鈥淲e are very fortunate to have Eduardo, Lola and Ed as part of our organization鈥檚 leadership,鈥 said Dr. Bruce Stillman, President and Chief Executive Officer of 黑料吃瓜资源. 鈥淭heir vision and experience will help 黑料吃瓜资源 to expand its research and educational goals, especially in the fields of cancer and neuroscience.鈥

Mr. Mestre, a member of the CSHL Board of Trustees since 2001, was preceded in his position by William R. Miller, former Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Bristol-Myers Squibb, who led the Board through two three-year terms as Chair. Mr. Mestre is currently Vice Chairman of Evercore Partners, a leading investment and advisory firm, where he is responsible for the firm鈥檚 corporate advisory practice. Formerly, he served as Chairman of Investment Banking at Citigroup, one of several leadership positions he held during his 27-year tenure there. As Chairman, he led many of the integration efforts that created the banking behemoth, including the combination of the banking businesses of Solomon Brothers and Smith Barney and the creation of the dual coverage model between Citibank and Solomon Smith Barney, widely regarded as one of the most successful business models in the industry. Mr. Mestre lives in Manhattan with his wife. They have three grown children.

Ms. Grace is currently the Managing Director of Sterling Grace Capital Management. She provides financial consulting and evaluation as well as directs investments focused on private equity transactions and initial public offerings. Ms. Grace鈥檚 extensive financial background has served 黑料吃瓜资源 well. Prior to being named Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees, she served as the Treasurer and Secretary and chaired the investment/finance committee. She is currently chairing the finance and audit committees and is a member of the Dolan DNA Learning Center committee.

Mr. Travaglianti, President of Commerce Bank, Long Island and a 34-year veteran of commercial banking in the metropolitan New York market, joined the CSHL Board of Trustees in 2003. As an advocate for education, research and health issues, he is also on the Board of Trustees of Long Island University and Chancellor of the University鈥檚 Brooklyn campus; Chairman of the Board of The Maurer Foundation for Breast Health Education; and serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Blood Center and as Chairman of the Long Island Blood Services Volunteer Leadership Campaign for 2005—2006. He resides in Lloyd Harbor with his wife and children.
