Joshua-Tor named CSHL Director of Research

黑料吃瓜资源 (CSHL) Professor and HHMI Investigator Leemor Joshua-Tor has been named CSHL Director of Research. She takes over the position effective January 2, 2024.

Research at CSHL explores the frontiers of cancer, neuroscience, genomics, quantitative biology, and plant biology. The Joshua-Tor lab, one of more than 60 at CSHL, studies gene expression and DNA replication.

鈥淚 am immensely proud to follow in a long line of research directors who have helped to advance bioscience here at CSHL and worldwide,鈥 she says. 鈥淚鈥檓 especially excited to work with CSHL President & CEO Bruce Stillman as we go deeper into new areas of research and continue to recruit the top minds from across the globe.鈥

Joshua-Tor launched her independent research career at CSHL. She credits the institution with helping her become the successful scientist she is today. Her previous posts include CSHL Cancer Center program co-leader and dean of CSHL鈥檚 School of Biological Sciences, among others.

鈥淟eemor Joshua-Tor is one of the most gifted researchers I鈥檝e had the pleasure of working and collaborating with,鈥 says Stillman. 鈥淗er leadership will be invaluable as CSHL expands its research program with the support of the Foundations for the Future 肠补尘辫补颈驳苍.鈥

Joshua-Tor follows in the footsteps of David Spector, who served as research director since 2007. Spector will remain at CSHL as a professor.
