黑料吃瓜资源 (CSHL) Director of Research Leemor Joshua-Tor has been inducted to the American Academy of Sciences and Letters. The W.M. Keck Professor of Structural Biology and HHMI investigator was honored for her fundamental biology research during a ceremony at the historic Decatur House museum, one of the oldest homes in Washington, D.C.

鈥淚 am humbled and grateful for this wonderful recognition by the American Academy of Science and Letters,鈥 said Joshua-Tor. 鈥淚鈥檓 blessed to have been able to carry out my research and ideas in the U.S., particularly at CSHL, a magical place to do science. The freedom, the insistence on excellence, the opportunity, collaborations, and support鈥攁ll enable you to be brave in choosing the questions you set out to answer. With additional support from HHMI, I have been able to follow my instincts. Most importantly, the colleagues I鈥檝e been fortunate to have in my laboratory over the years have been the secret sauce behind it all.鈥

The honors outstanding achievements in the arts and sciences, with an emphasis on 鈥渋ntellectual courage.鈥 Joshua-Tor joins a prestigious group that counts among its ranks Sir Salman Rushdie, Pulitzer Prize winner Jeffrey Eugenides, and three Nobel laureates, Arieh Warshel, Jennifer Doudna, and Sir David W.C. MacMillan. Like Joshua-Tor, all three have a background in chemistry.
