黑料吃瓜资源 Assistant Professor Helen Hou and her lab have been selected as one of the seven inaugural project partners of the (IBL). Supported by the Simons Foundation, the IBL is a global collaboration of independent labs seeking to bring about a better understanding of the brain.
The 22-member consortium is now entering a new phase of its work as its partners program matches leading experimental labs, like Hou鈥檚, with IBL鈥檚 engineering and data science team to address emerging questions in neuroscience.
鈥淭he selection speaks to the quality and rigor of the experiments and data produced by every member of our laboratory,鈥� says Hou, whose work focuses on facial expression. 鈥淎t a time when new computational tools and hardware are reshaping research, I am excited to partner with IBL鈥檚 seasoned engineering team to accelerate discovery and help us answer new questions in the brain, behavior, and disease.鈥�
Along with Hou, the inaugural cohort of IBL project partners includes Fanny Cazettes (CNRS, France), Joaqu铆n Gonz谩lez and Mat铆as Cavelli (University of the Republic, Uruguay), Mathias Mahn (FMI, Switzerland), Carl Petersen (EPFL, Switzerland), Andreas Tolias and James Cotton (Stanford and Northwestern, U.S.), and Adam Tyson (UCL SWC, U.K.).
The partnership builds on longstanding ties between CSHL and IBL. Former CSHL Professor Zachary Mainen was one of IBL鈥檚 four founders. Other members include current CSHL Professor Anthony Zador and longtime colleagues Anne Churchland and Tatiana Engel. The group recently made headlines with the publication of a map of the brain showing how decisions are made.
