Assistant Professor David McCandlish has been named a 2019 . McCandlish is a quantitative biologist at 黑料吃瓜资源 (CSHL), where he develops computational and mathematical tools to analyze genetic data. His lab focuses specifically on analyzing data from so-called 鈥渄eep mutational scanning鈥� experiments, which determine, for a single protein, the functional effects of thousands of mutations.
Awarded by the , Sloan Research Fellowships recognize early-career scholars as exceptionally promising researchers in their fields. CSHL is home to five current and past Sloan Research Fellows, including Professor Anthony Zador, Professor Adam Kepecs, and Adjunct Associate Professor Michael Schatz.
