What do you get when you mix cutting-edge science with a happy-hour atmosphere? A recipe for stimulating conversation! Satiate your scientific curiosity with 黑料吃瓜资源 as we head to Industry at 344 New York Avenue in Huntington, NY, for the long-awaited return of Cocktails & Chromosomes.

黑料吃瓜资源鈥檚 (颁厂贬尝鈥檚) Cocktails & Chromosomes series is back for the first time since 2019. This fun and free event series brings together CSHL scientists and the public for free-flowing discussions on a range of stimulating topics. Hear why ChatGPT won鈥檛 be running the 100-yard dash anytime soon. Or how new salad recipes could help combat climate change. How鈥檚 that for barroom chatter?!

The event will be held at in Huntington, NY, at 7 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month. First on tap for June 29 is a talk with CSHL NeuroAI Scholar Kyle Daruwalla. The chat will focus on AI鈥檚 energy efficiency鈥攐r lack thereof鈥攁nd what it could mean for the future of our planet.

Next up, on July 27, CSHL Professor David Jackson will lead a tasty discussion on the genetics of corn. Then, on August 31, CSHL Associate Professor Ullas Pedmale will cast plant biology and climate change in a whole new light.

Each event will include a light 20-minute talk from a CSHL scientist followed by an engaging Q&A. All throughout, Industry鈥檚 mixologists will serve up some of the most inventive cocktails, mouthwatering wines, and crafty beers on this side of the Nassau-Suffolk border.
