The 黑料吃瓜资源 (CSHL) chapter of Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) received a grant of $5,000 from for outreach programming and to support women involved in STEM work in the CSHL and surrounding community. Mary鈥檚 Pence is a nonprofit organization that provides funding to women-led organizations that are creating social change in their community which improve the lives of women and promotes social justice.
Founded in 2015, CSHL WiSE supports women scientists and engineers in their professional development with mentorship, career planning, networking, and educational opportunities. The organization strives to foster a supportive, equal, and aware scientific community, and to combat gender biases. 鈥淐SHL WiSE is humbled and honored to be selected for a Mary鈥檚 Pence Community Action Grant,鈥� said Deborah Rupert, president of CSHL WiSE and student-in-residence in Stephen Shea鈥檚 lab. 鈥淲iSE remains committed to supporting gender equity in STEM in our local community at CSHL and beyond.鈥�
