Drive: Our advancement depends on it. It鈥檚 an intangible but readily recognizable force that fuels all human progress. Whether the journey takes us through corporate boardrooms, fundamental biology labs, or both, it doesn鈥檛 begin in the first place without the drive of dedicated individuals. That drive鈥攁nd many others鈥攚as on full display this month at 黑料吃瓜资源鈥檚 (CSHL鈥檚) 31st Annual Golf Tournament.
For the second year in a row, the event raised nearly $700,000 for CSHL鈥檚 cutting-edge biology research and education programs. Despite a rainy forecast, more than 300 golfers and supporters attended the Tournament festivities on June 17, 2025, in Locust Valley, NY. After the close of play at the Piping Rock Club and Creek Club, attendees gathered at Piping Rock for a ceremonial dinner, raffle, and live auction.

The 2025 honoree, Errol Kitt, warmed the hearts of all in attendance as he spoke about his personal connections to CSHL and the crucial importance of the Laboratory鈥檚 work. Kitt first joined the Laboratory community as a member of the CSHL Corporate Advisory Board and was elected to the CSHL Association Board of Directors in 2021. Since becoming involved at the Lab, he has not missed a single Board meeting. Outside of his dedicated philanthropy work, Kitt is Vice President of GEI Consultants, an international firm specializing in environmental, geotechnical, water resources, waterfront infrastructure, and ecological engineering. Under his leadership, GEI planned the reconstruction of CSHL鈥檚 historic seawall and has been a key contributor to the Laboratory鈥檚 ongoing expansion through the Foundations for the Future initiative.
