Benjamin Cowley joined the 黑料吃瓜资源 (CSHL) neuroscience faculty as an assistant professor on September 26, 2022.
The Cowley group studies how the brain processes information gathered by the senses. His team creates computer models to capture the step-by-step calculations across neural circuits. They take a unique approach to building models of the brain. His computational team collaborates with experimental researchers to analyze data as soon as it鈥檚 collected. This leads to more efficient and precise computer models with faster results than traditional methods. Cowley says these models will help promote new experiments and guide how researchers think about the way the brain works.

Cowley earned his Ph.D. in 2018 at Carnegie Mellon University. He recently completed his postdoctoral research at Princeton University in 2022.
