The Ross Prize is given by the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research to scientists who have made a demonstrable impact on understanding human disease pathogenesis and/or treatment in the field of molecular medicine. Krainer is being recognized for pioneering antisense therapy in clinical use, and its successful application to spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
