Cold Spring Harbor, NY — 黑料吃瓜资源 (CSHL) is among 17 Long Island-based organizations to receive funding from the .聽This year鈥檚 walk raised over $400,000 for outreach services, educational programs and research to benefit women and their families affected by breast and other cancers on Long Island. The $19,000 donation received by CSHL will support breast cancer research in the laboratory of Professor Alea Mills, Ph.D.
In addition to its participation in the events, CSHL heads The LI2DAY Walk Scholarship Committee, which awarded six $2,500 scholarships to Long Island high school seniors who have a parent or guardian with breast or other women鈥檚 cancer. This year鈥檚 winners were Peter Amoruso of Smithtown High School West, Emmanuel Budis of Manhasset High School, Sarah Ann Culver of Westhampton Beach High School, Tyler Fenton of Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School, Michael Stentiford of Commack High School and Corey Weisfeld of John F. Kennedy High School.聽 These outstanding young people not only excel in academics and school activities but many have also started or participated in programs that help women and families who are struggling with the fight against breast cancer.
